The National Park Service is 100 years old this year. 50 years ago I joined the N.P.S. and began my training at the Grand Canyon based Albright training center. I have written about the true life adventures of park rangers in the 1960s and 70s and how the park service led me to Yosemite, Alaska, and Maui with a side trip to Washington D.C. during the year Earth Day was declared.

Join me as I help terrified climbers down the sheer granite cliffs of Yosemite, follow the "death lights" on Maui's remote coast and create chaos in the basement of the White House. We'll travel from my childhood in the State Parks of California to protecting the lands in the farthest reaches of the United States. Along the way I'll tell you stories around the campfire.
